Summary
The Construction & Service Finish Technician is responsible for creating a raving fan base of customers internally and externally by being a key player in the finish level of homes being turned over to clients while also resolving deficiencies in homes after closing.

Major Responsibilities
1.) Provide Exceptional Customer Service
· Create a raving client base by attend scheduled Service Appointments on time, fully prepared to complete the scheduled scope of work.
· Provide exceptional communication by reviewing service works, repair method and timeline with homeowners prior to the start of any repair.
· Always communicate professionally and politely with homeowners.
· Conduct scheduled warranty inspections requested by the Site Supervisor or Customer Care Manager related to Tarion 30 day, 1 Year, or 2 Year Tarion Forms, not limited to emergency service assessments.
· Inspect and review completed Service Appointment works with the homeowner daily ensuring full homeowner satisfaction.
· Identify and assess construction deficiencies and perform repairs as required in a timely and professional manner with respect for quality and workmanship
· Ensure client homes are left clean, tidy, and presentable upon the completion of any work.
· Perform all Service works utilizing CPG guidelines at all times.
· Travel to multiple job sites will be required.
2.) Provide Detailed & Accurate Documentation
· Demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of Tarion CPG.
· Diligently complete daily paperwork for all Service Appointments.
· Effectively communicate daily.
· Provide detailed information to Customer Care Coordinator advising all work complete or outstanding through the updating of the service software
· Take before and after pictures of all repair work.
· Other duties as assigned
3.) Present WOW!
· Prepare homes by providing quality execution of QA defects prior to PDI Inspection as directed by the Site Supervisor – paying critical attention to fit and finish presentation within the home.
· Ensure the highest level of quality standards are met daily through the execution and completion of assigned tasks.
· Be a leader by ensuring quality workmanship standards are being met and kept top of mind at all times through effective communication with a positive attitude. Lead by example.
· Complete Quality Assurance (QA) Inspections of homes during construction, when directed by the Site Supervisor in order to drive quality of workmanship.
· Demonstrate accountability and dependability by ensuring any/all company provided tools or resources are cared for daily, maintained, in safe operational condition and securely stored and locked away each day.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety by all on site external partner and internal staff is being always met, playing an active role in keeping a safe job site.
· Provide support to the Site Supervisor through diligent quality workmanship of various skilled hands-on construction tasks that include carpentry, trim work, and finish repairs as requested, in order to drive a quality build at all times.
· Demonstrate clear understanding of Tarion CPG Guidelines.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Completion of High school education is desirable.
Experience/Skills:
- Ability to solve problems which arise in the warranty period of the homes.
- Computer skills required such as use of a smart phone or handheld device, and Service Software.
- Full working knowledge of the Tarion Construction Performance Guidelines and statutory repair periods is a must.
- Experience in dealing with customers in at times tense circumstances.
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in residential construction.
- Ability to perform repairs in residential homes including but not limited to drywall patching, painting, tile / grout repairs, regular home maintenance, trim repairs, caulking / siliconing, etc.
- Ability to oversee warranty related trade work and approve the quality and completion of such work.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiently in multiple trades functions such as carpentry, drywall, painting, etc. is a requirement, as is knowledge of various tools and equipment.
- Ability to assess, complete and or document work which will have to be completed by appropriate trades.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
Internal:
- Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with construction staff, warranty staff as well as staff across the Dunsire Developments team.
External:
- Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with trade partners, and homeowners.
- Work frequently requires a high level of physical effort in walking, climbing, lifting, sweeping, plus manual dexterity
- Work normally requires a moderate level of effort in reading reports, and a lower level in organizing and reviewing schedule and reports
- Work normally requires a moderate to high level of visual effort in operating machinery, using various power tools, hand tools and equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
