Saltworks is pleased to offer an exciting career development position for aspiring engineers! You will support the operations and testing of our pilot-scale water treatment and lithium production plants. This role is ideally suited for recently graduated Mechanical Engineers who seek to build a career in advanced clean technology.
Your career will start with valuable experience operating, tuning, and troubleshooting innovative pilot plants that desalinate industrial waters and/or refine lithium into electric vehicle battery grade inputs. You will develop valuable hands-on, process-control, project management, and quality assurance skills while being mentored by senior engineers. Once you gain a detailed understanding of our processes (in approximately 6-8 months) you will have the opportunity to transition to the Project Management Office as a Project Engineer.

Your main tasks will include:

Learning about Saltworks’ products, treatment processes, and pilot plant infrastructure.

Delivering clean technology solutions within a collaborative and innovative work culture.

Operating pilot scale industrial water treatment plants (training provided).
-
Completing pilot plant data collection, wet lab analysis, data interpretation, and data management (training provided).
-
Executing test procedures, data interpretation, and proposed next steps.

Writing completion reports as required.

Pilot plant maintenance work (training provided).

Preparing test samples for external lab analysis, coordinating external labs, executing quality control, and managing and distributing all data.

Generating drawings and engineering documentation.
You will be a great fit if you have:

A degree in Mechanical or Integrated Engineering.

The ability to work well within a team by learning from others, training others, and pitching in to help when possible.

A mechanical aptitude and a strong ability to troubleshoot problems.

A strong safety ethic with the courage to stop work and improve safety when needed.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

The ability to diligently collect data and prepare reports.

Organizational skills to meet project objectives by balancing many tasks, managing priorities, and working well under pressure.

Solid computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
