We are looking for a Temporary Full Time Recovery Support Worker/Mobile Addictions Outreach Worker position in Medicine Hat. This position term is until March 31, 2024.
Here is how you will contribute as a Mobile Addictions Outreach Worker with McMan: (1 day per week)
o Provide addiction outreach services to youth and adults ages 12+. Target populations being those most vulnerable, homeless, and/or those who do not typically access traditional services in the community.
o Provide information and support services for individuals and families living with addiction.
o Provide system navigation and support to individuals and families requiring information or access to addiction, mental health, and/or harm reduction services.
o Actively and effectively advocate for the needs of the participants in your program using a strength-based, trauma informed, harm reduction, recovery orientated approach.
Here is how you will contribute as a Recovery Support Worker with McMan: (4 Day’s per week)
o The LYNX Recovery House provides a safe, supportive, sober, and abstinence-based transitional housing environment for individuals 18+ who are awaiting treatment or are returning from treatment.
o Provide recovery-based support services for up to 16 adults (18+) in residential setting.
o Provide system navigation support and healthy connections to community.
o Actively and effectively advocate for the needs of the participants in your program using a strength-based, trauma informed, harm reduction, recovery orientated approach.

Required Qualifications:
o Degree/Diploma in Human Services, plus one (1) year of experience working with adults, youth, case management, intervention, wrap around supports and advocacy (combination of related education/experience will be considered).
o Minimum one (1) year experience working in outreach.
o Knowledge of existing community resources and understanding of issues related to youth homelessness, including poverty, mental health, and addictions.
o Knowledge of the Alberta Model: A Recovery Oriented System of Care
o Experience in building relationships with community resources.
o Experience working with mental health, addictions, homelessness.
o Strengths in crisis intervention, case management, communication and administrative skills are a must.
o Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate or CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid Certificate
o Clear Child Intervention Record Check, dated within the past six months.
o Clear Police Information Check with vulnerable sector, dated within past six months.
o Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, Driver’s Abstract, and use of reliable vehicle with $2M Third Party Liability insurance.
