Vibe Medical Specialists is seeking an experienced candidate who is self motivated, ambitious and able to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
As a certified Medical Office Assistant (MOA), you will be part of a fast paced multidisciplinary specialist medical clinic. Reporting to the clinic manager, you will be responsible for general administrative support assisting physician’s in daily tasks to promote an efficient clinic. Responsibilities include a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, including but not limited to processing referrals, file management, appointment bookings, obtaining vitals and patient follow-up.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a Medical Office Assistant Program
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system (Connect Care) and other computer applications to schedule appointments, prepare for appointments and maintain documentation
- Answer phones, greet patients
- Receive and communicate messages
- Book appointments/procedures both in a hospital setting and outpatient clinic
- Coordinate patient preparation for procedures
- Work closely with other clerical and support staff (eg. Endoscopy suite, anesthesiologists etc)
- Preparation and reconciliation of medical documents and requisitions
- Proofread and fax clinical letters
- Process referrals and communicate with referring physician offices as to either status of referral or booked appointment information
- Maintains a comprehensive daily, weekly and long range electronic calendar for the physician
- Interview patients to complete intake and update demographics, screen for illness
- Room patients, take vitals (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Height and weight)
- Educate and support the patient with aspects of their visit and health care
- Maintain exam rooms; clean/disinfect, orderly, and stocked with supplies
- Apply proper handwashing techniques and infection control standards to meet AHS/AMA standards
- Tend to a variety of patient follow-up tasks delegated by the physician and/or clinic manager
- Display flexibility and dedication to work - Shift pattern may include occasional weekends (Saturday)

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
