Coordinator – Medicine Hat Programs Coordinator

Role Description

JA Southern Alberta is dedicated to educating and inspiring young Albertans to succeed in a global economy, and offers in-school and after-school programs in the areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. JA works in partnership with educators, volunteers and businesses to help youth increase their potential, engage in their own economic development, and contribute to the strength of their community and Canada’s economy.
General Accountability
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Medicine Hat Programs Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the coordination of programs and associated functions within their specified region. This role reports to the Director of Programs, and works in consultation with the local Regional Leadership Council (RLC) and other Regional Coordinators as required.
$25.00 per hour for up to 100 hours per month from September to June of each year.
· Coordination of K-12
· Building relationships with key stakeholders including schools, teachers, community organizations and volunteers
· Volunteer recruitment, training, orientation, recognition and support
· Relationship building and management of assigned corporate volunteer groups
· Liaise with teachers, schools, school boards, donors and other stakeholders
Responsibilities
· Coordinate the delivery of 12 in-school K-12
· Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and travel within Medicine Hat and southern Alberta is required
· Market programs to new and existing teachers, schools and school boards
· Facilitate volunteer orientation and training sessions for all programs
· Volunteer sourcing, recruitment, engagement and recognition
· Communicate and engage with assigned corporate volunteer groups and other stakeholders
· Facilitate JA Southern Alberta programs when required
· Other duties as required
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred
· Comfortable with public speaking, training and facilitation
· Demonstrated experience with customer service and relationship building
· High level of organization, attention to detail, and initiative
· Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and regular transportation is required; willingness to travel within Medicine Hat and Southern Alberta
· Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Ability to work occasional evenings for training sessions and/or event support
· Experience with SMART Technology and/or Raiser’s Edge is considered a strong asset

Salary: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
