Penticton and District Society for Community Living (PDSCL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with diverse abilities in Penticton and surrounding communities. We provide support and services for people with intellectual disabilities, seniors, low-income adults, families, and persons facing homelessness.
This is a floater position reporting to the appropriate Coordinator. Works shifts in various areas to cover sick leave, vacation requests and/or other staffing concerns so staff must be flexible for all shifts and work placements.
This position is responsible for effectively supporting residents, youth, and persons with disabilities. Assists in daily activities, including personal care and medication administration. Assists clients with physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional and daily life skills development.
The successful candidate for this position will work in PALS, Outreach and Inclusion:
Outreach- Reporting to the Outreach Coordinator assists clients living semi independently with their physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional and daily life skills development. Assists clients to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life possible.
PALS: Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates community-based recreational activities. Ensures the clients’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs are met. Assists clients to enhance quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills.
Community Inclusion- assists clients with their physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional and daily life skills development. Assists clients to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life possible. See job description for more details.
EDUCATION: Minimum of a diploma or equivalent certification in a related human/social service field or recreation course. One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- TB Skin Test,
- Medical clearance,
- Valid CPR/First Aid,
- Class 4 unrestricted license or willing to obtain,
- Adherence to current Provincial Health Office Orders including COVID Vaccine
Benefits: Positions of 20 hours or more per week as per current collective agreement.
