TYPICAL DUTIES OF A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER AT SONOVISION:
Participate in design and development of metallic welded structures.

Develop design concepts based on stated criteria, conduct trade-offs, conduct design reviews.

Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDP), prepare and present formal Design Reviews. Follow established procedures.

Conduct Design for Manufacturability studies for existing and new designs.

Develop, qualify and record welding procedures IAW with Defense and Industrial codes and specifications.

Perform damage assessment on welded structures, develop repair plans, support repair procedures.

Provide relevant expertise to Support Services organization and support field operations.

Support other functional areas from their relevant area of expertise.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- A degree in Engineering or Industrial Design or experience as a technician.

Specialized in Hulls structures would be a strong asset.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as XML, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar platforms.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Outlook.

Adaptability and a keen eye for detail.

Ability to work under pressure with professionalism and accuracy.

The successful candidate must complete a background check, which will include previous employment reference checks, education verification, and a criminal history review.
This position requires a minimum of 10-years consecutive residency in Canada to attain a Secret Clearance. For this position, the successful candidate must also be able to meet all Controlled Goods Program requirements.
