PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE
PART TIME (.5) JOB POSTING
Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) is actively seeking to recruit a part-time Public Health Nurse for Hatchet Lake Denesuline Nation, which is a remote fly-in community. Shifts will be two weeks in and two weeks out. Accommodations and travel are provided, including return air fare from either Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge.
Qualifications
- Registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Have at least 2 or more years in public health nursing
- Maintain valid SK Driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills;
- Knowledge in community health and public health concepts;
- Knowledge of immunology and biologicals used for immunizations;
- Knowledge of growth & development of newborns, children, adolescents, and adults;
- Knowledge of teaching/learning concepts for adults and children;
- Self-motivated and self-directed;
- Able to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Knowledge of Panorama
- Ability to travel to remote fly-in community
Assets
- Knowledge of Indigenous language (preferably Denesuline) and culture
- Knowledge or awareness of First Nations community health programs and treatment services
