Position Title: Settlement Outreach Worker

Summary
The Settlement Outreach Worker role involves delivering direct client services and facilitating connections for newcomers to access various services. Utilizing a holistic service framework, the Settlement Outreach Worker will offer personalized outreach support, conduct comprehensive assessments, provide one-on-one information and orientation to clients, facilitate service coordination, engage in client outreach efforts, and foster community connections. Additionally, they will handle intake services, ensuring that all eligible clients can access the required services and manage referrals as needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Conducts services eligibility, services registration, needs and assets assessments, develops service/settlement plans, and provides service bridging and referrals for eligible clients
· Provides one-to-one support for clients as required to increase uptake of settlement services and increase client engagement
· Provides eligible individuals and families information & orientation, resources support using a variety of delivery methods (online, telephone, email and in-person)
· Conducts group information sessions in the community on services using delivery methods as suitable to meet deliverables with a special emphasis on increasing accessibility to services
· Keeps informed of current resources, trends, needs, changes, and service gaps in the general community and in specific client communities
· Develops partnerships with service providers to effectively link clients with appropriate community services
· Keeps informed of programs and services at Impact North Shore and resources within the North Shore community
· Conducts outcomes measurement of programs and services within the community
· Attends and takes an active role in departmental, all-staff, and community meetings
· Ensures all required service data is correctly inputted into Impact North Shore and government databases; abides by privacy, confidentiality, and secure data storage guidelines; and swiftly responds to queries regarding service data quality
· Becomes familiar with Impact North Shore policies and procedures, programming objectives, and understand clearly the role this position plays in achieving contractual goals and outcomes
· Provides first language services as required to enhance the client experience
· Conducts community outreach and marketing to engage service partners
· Delivers resources and service support for Settlement, Language, Employment, SWIS and Community Connection programs through community-based client outreach
· Performs other duties as assigned by the Centralized Intake Lead

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Humanities, or Counselling
- High School completion with a diploma or certificate in Community Development, human/social services field
- 2 years’ experience in a direct client service role, preferably with im/migrants and an understanding of the immigrant and refugee experience, and settlement-integration stages/process
- Knowledge of Canadian legal, political, cultural, employment, educational, and economic systems
- General and culturally-specific community resources and services on the North Shore
- Experienced in establishing professional boundaries with clients
- Sensible and sound judgement
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as a capacity to self-motivate and work independently
- Ability to identify barriers to services to promote equity and inclusion for a diverse client population
- Must possess a solid knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies required for excellent service delivery as needed
- Strong administrative and client service skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support the service outreach and be in the community during the week.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English with second language an asset

Additional Information
- Salary Range: $24 - $27 per hour commensurate with experience
- Work Schedule: 35 hours / per week Monday to Friday
- Contract end date: March 31, 2024 (Extension subject to funding)
- This is a fully in-office position.
