Technologist - Metering

You will be responsible to clean, repair, test, calibrate and perform final inspections on electro-mechanical and electronic energy and demand meters, recording demand meters, instrument transformers and other associated metering equipment. You will test, repair, modify, maintain, calibrate, verify and re-certify all measuring apparatus and test equipment. You will maintain meter and metering equipment records and all other records as identified in the Meter Shop Quality Management System. You will prepare metering equipment for installation in field areas and render technical assistance to personnel in operating areas, install and replace metering equipment in service, perform field installation inspections and assist operating personnel with installation, replacement and inspection of terminal station and major customer metering. You will perform interrogation of electronic recording metering equipment. As well as all other duties related to or associated with this classification as required by the Corporation and by Measurement Canada as identified in the Meter Shop Quality Management System and Technical Procedures Manuals.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. You are also responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
You have graduated from High school, and successfully completed a two (2) or three (3) year electrical or electronic technology course from a recognized technical institute and either have completed the four (4) year training program established by the Corporation or have four (4) years experience as a technician in the discipline. You have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules and must possess an appropriate valid driver’s license.
