RAPS is Seeking a part time support worker to assist an individual with Dementia (E6)
Location: Parkland County (brightbank Hall area) * Southwest of Stony Plain
Days: Monday and Wednesday
Hours: 12pm-5pm * Flexible between 5-8 hours each shift * Flexible with start times.
Job Description: Duties include but are not limited to: prompting of hygiene and oral care, meal preparation and daily routine guidance. Client engagement and social interactions (ie. Puzzles, gardening, tinkering in the garage). Support on outings, light housekeeping and laundry, supervision, and companionship.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and interest in construction or DIY projects.
Note: This is a pet friendly home, both Dogs and Cats. Must be comfortable working around them.
Qualifications and Other Requirements: the successful candidate will have an updated criminal record check with the vulnerable sector check, a driver’s license and vehicle. The candidate must be vaccinated against covid and have their valid first aid/ CPR certificates and be a non-smoker. The successful candidate will have a combination of experience with Dementia with aphasia and formal education in the Health Care field and be physically fit with the ability to lift 45+ lbs.
The ability to speak French is a strong asset.
Rate of Pay: $20- $22/ per hour + $10 shift Travel Bonus .
