This is a role where the successful candidate will be provided ongoing training and support to become a competent Training Coach Facilitator in the area of family programming. This position is not remote and works from the AHVNA head office in Edmonton with some travel within the city and Alberta to facilitate or support programming.
Position Summary:
The Training Coach Facilitator reports to the Training Coordinator and is primarily responsible to support training, provide coaching to membership participants and provide some direct facilitation of programs. This position will work with the training team to support the planning, development and delivery of training, workshops, information sessions and materials for programming centered on early childhood development, home visitation, and parenting skills. This position works with all staff, committees, members, and community stakeholders.
Work Responsibilities:
Facilitation
· Deliver course content that assists learners to achieve learning objectives
· Use diverse facilitation methods to actively engage learners and encourage participation
· Provide support for learners using coaching and mentorship practices
· Lead learning groups virtually and in person
· Provide basic technology support to learners when using online training platforms
Programming Support
· Design and edit training programs to support curriculum development
· Ensure programs meet industry and grant requirements
· Confer with training program team to coordinate training activities and execution
· Assist and support to program team and contractors with connecting to virtual training
· Communicate training program ideas and information effectively by sharing information with colleagues
· Assist in the evaluation of training programming by identifying inefficiencies
· Develop program resources and materials
Other
· Participate in special projects and tasks as they are assigned
Qualifications:
· Completion of post-secondary education in a certificate, diploma or degree program in an Early Childhood, Human Ecology, human services or related field
· 3+ years’ progressively responsible experience in family support or home visitation field in programming and/or group facilitation for adult learners
· A combination of education and/or experience will be considered
· Experience with the services and systems available in the field of home visitation/family support for marginalized families using a strength-based focus and strong emphasis on parent child interactions
· Experience facilitating online/in person training courses and public speaking
· Familiar with home visitation and training programs with proficiency in at least two of the following is preferred:
o ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE (train the trainer training a bonus)
o DSP
o Great Kids Inc Integrated Strategies
o Great Kids Inc Parent Survey
o PICCOLO
o HOVRS
· Experience working in a non-profit setting with membership is considered an asset
· Strong computer skills using all applications of Microsoft Office Suite especially with Excel and Access
· Advanced skills using web site, cloud based and video conferencing software programs
· A satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector and Child Welfare Check is required
· A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance is required

Working Conditions:
· High interactions with clients and the public on the phone, in person, or through email
· Moderate sedentary position with frequent standing and walking
· Frequent lifting of 10 kg or more with access to lifting and moving aids for assistance
· Periodic handling/moving materials, equipment and course materials
· Frequent travel operating a vehicle within Edmonton and across Alberta
