SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Demonstrating drive, motivation and enthusiasm, you will successfully manage and engineer unique and challenging projects. As our ideal candidate, you will have a relevant degree with a minimum of 6 years' experience as an Engineer within the Consulting Industry in the fields of HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire protection and life safety systems. Ideally, your experience should be with the design and engineering of mechanical building systems for commercial, healthcare, multi-residential, industrial and institutional facilities. A P. Eng. designation in the province of Ontario is required along with past experience in managing your own projects.

Responsibilities:
- Successfully carrying out project assignments as directed
- Management of design/project assignments
- Coordinating and leading a Project Team for a particular assignment and/or project
- Develops, adheres to and tracks the assignment/project schedule
- Administration of the assignment/project
- Financials of the assignment/project
- Preparation of, or assistance with, the conceptual design of a project;
- Review and/or preparation of the detailed design;
- Performing site investigations and field reviews;
- Attending site meetings and liaising with clients/contractors;
- Review and/or preparation of CAD drawings using AutoCAD and Revit;
- Review and application of knowledge of relevant building codes and standards;
- Review and/or preparation of HVAC load calculations, Energy Modelling, and equipment selections; and
- Preparing technical specifications
- Preparing technical reports (feasibility studies, life cycle analysis, etc.)
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Current in-depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, ASHRAE, and relevant NFPA and CSA standards
- Demonstrated experience in the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire protection and life safety systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
- Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks
- Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
- Demonstrated project management skills; PMP will be considered an asset
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD and Revit software
- You must also be skilled in performing and reviewing HVAC Load calculations and Energy Models for buildings
Background Requirements
- Bachelors degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering
- P. Eng. from PEO
- A minimum of six (6) + years of experience in a mechanical design and engineering role
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis
