Job Summary:The Vocational Counsellor supports adults with developmental disabilities to explore their vocational interests. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates training plans in a variety of work settings designed to meet vocational, social and daily living goals of persons served. Delivers one on one and group activities that develop job readiness, vocational skills, and on the job training and support. Evening and/or weekend work is often required. Activities may require a moderate (higher than other day program positions) level of physical fitness. This position reports to the Supported Employment Coordinator.
Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience
· Diploma in Human/Social Services Field or equivalent experience
· One-year recent related experience
· Approved First Aid and CPR certification
· Food Safe Certification
· Class 4 driver’s license and own vehicle
· Three month’s experience delivering similar services

· Demonstrated ability to teach skills, provide individual client support, and leadership
· Knowledge of theory, values and practices in community living
· Effective interpersonal communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to work alone and unsupervised, as well as part of a team
· Demonstrated good time and general management skills
· Basic computer skills preferably experience with Microsoft Office

Please Note:
· The successful candidate will begin employment within the Supported Employment program; Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00-16:30 (1/2hr unpaid lunch). These hours may vary subject to client employment needs and may include evenings and weekends
· This position is open to all qualified applicants and requires Union membership
· Will be required to use personal vehicle
· This position is subject to temporary funding and will be cancelled with two weeks’ notice
· Successful applicant must acquire Class 4 driver’s license in order to pass the three-month trial period

Part-time hours: 21 per week
Salary: $26.74-$30.69 per hour
