The Cool Aid Dental Clinic works in association with the Victoria Cool Aid Society, providing full dental services for adults that have multiple barriers to accessing dental care. The Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) position is a rewarding opportunity to work in the non-profit sector with an emphasis on providing affordable dental treatment for those who are on a fixed income or have Ministry coverage. Reporting to the Dental Manager, the CDA is primarily responsible for assisting the Dentist in four-handed dentistry, alongside assisting Dentists during the examination and treatment of patients.
It is important for the CDA to be willing and interested in working cooperatively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be committed to the goal of improving the dental health of people living in a marginalized community. The successful applicant must be very well organized with proven time-management skills.
Key to this role is the ability to display sensitivity and compassion to the needs of all patients regardless of ethnic or socio-economic backgrounds. Having an understanding of substance use and mental health challenges would be an asset.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized CDA program.

Familiarity with Tracker dental software.

First Aid CPR Level C.

Previous experience working in a busy dental environment.
Requirements
- Current BC CDA License.

Complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
