The Quality Control Supervisor supports the practice of maintaining the highest level of food quality in Agrocorp Processing Ltd.’s (APL’s) products. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that products meet standards set by both the company and regulatory authorities, supervise and coordinate activities with plant operators, training employees on quality assurance/control methods, and completing and submitting reports as required.
Food Safety and Quality Control
· Collect samples and conduct laboratory tests to determine that raw materials, packaging, and processed products meet all quality standards and complete data analysis reports.
· Conduct validation studies when changes are made to incoming raw materials, processing aids, food manufacturing processes, or equipment.
· Along with the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor, develop, review, implement, and maintain the Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQM), Good Operating Practices (GOPs), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plan.
· Create, maintain, and update controlled documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, and related materials.
· Maintain accurate records to ensure consistency of product quality, compliance to regulatory agency requirements, and documentation of HACCP processes.
· Provide technical support and training to the operations team on various quality and food safety SOPs, GOPs, and the HACCP Plan, and coordinate with Human Resources to ensure employee training records are kept current.
· Work alongside operations team on qualification, execution, validation, and confirmation of new processes, products, and equipment to the processing line.
· Conduct internal audits of the plant, prepare and complete internal and external reports as needed and/or requested, and submit to applicable managers/agencies within required timelines.
· Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate with plnt operators and plant manager
· Resolve plant problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality

· Investigate food safety and/or quality non-conformance claims, prepare non-conformance reports, and work with the operations team to implement corrective and preventive measures.
· Operate, maintain, and repair laboratory equipment, ensuring the on-going calibration, verification, and confirmation of measurement tools and production equipment.
· Maintain the inventory of lab supplies and equipment, assist with sourcing suppliers, and suggest new solutions for laboratory equipment, cost reductions, and/or improvements of lab work efficiency/productivity.
· Assist with operations as needed.
· Keep plant clean and organized through daily cleaning and upkeep.
· Report any equipment deficiencies and mechanical issues immediately to Shift Supervisor.
· Carry out regular maintenance, inspection, and cleaning, as directed.
· Carry out change over procedures.
· Ensure production is in accordance with regulatory requirements.
· Ensure work is completed within standards that meet safety, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service and cost controls.
· Always follow good manufacturing processes, meeting industry regulations and equipment protocols.
· Practice quality control protocol at all phases of production and shipping and receiving.
· Report all quality issues and opportunities for improving quality control.
· Share knowledge and keep teammates abreast of any information or process changes affecting them.
· Attend and participate in staff meetings and team calls as required.
· Participate in cross-training to strengthen teams, create more opportunities for advancement within the department, and create redundancies for periods of employee leaves and turnover.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement.
· Post-secondary education from a recognized institution food sciences, agricultural science, or related discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
· 1+ years’ experience working in food safety and quality assurance activities of an organization in a manufacturing/processing environment.
· Extensive knowledge of and experience working with HACCP protocols and processes.
· Knowledge of the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and ISO 22000 standards and protocols.
· Previous experience supervising and training employees.
· Proven ability to build strong customer relations.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Advanced Microsoft Office skills including extensive experience using Excel.
· Strong time management and organizational skills including the ability manage conflicting priorities.
· High level of attention to detail.
· Proven ability to foster effective interpersonal relationships within a geographically and culturally diverse work setting.
· Ability to use initiative to identify problems and deliver solutions.
