We are currently seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our team of professionals based out of Airdrie, AB. The Prolium Project Engineer will work as part of our Operations team to oversee construction projects from inception to close-out with primary involvement in the planning stages to help develop and execute project specific plans. Prolium Project Engineer will act as the direct manager of the Site Supervisor throughout the execution of the project and will coordinate the internal resources required to assemble the project team (Controller, Leads, Supervisor, Engineer, etc.). The secondary role of the Project Engineer is to review and approve the Prolium Engineering Group’s Engineered drawings for above ground storage tank repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Some travel to various worksites across Canada
- Development of project budgets, schedules, and plans for Clients
- Work with clients and engineering resources to define project work scopes
- Ensure that all resources required for the project execution are supplied to field work crew
- Act as a main point of contact for client project representatives
- Attend all kickoff, progress and project related meetings held with the Client
- Schedule and chair all internal project kickoff meetings
- Review, stamp/approve and authorize above ground storage tank repair drawings and modifications
- Ensure all required engineering and plans are in place for projects
- Coordinate the required equipment with project Supervisor and Equipment Manager
- Oversee preparation of tool list and trailer stocking at onset of project
- Monitor project progress and complete shift schedule updates
- Accountable for each project being tracked and reported on time to client
- Ensuring change management documentation is being submitted and tracked
- Maintaining project gross profit margins within KPI expectations
- Maintaining customer satisfaction
- Ensure that all project procurement is approved by an authorized representative
- Manage the assembly of project binders and forms required for project start-up
- Responsible for managing projects within approved budgets and schedules
- Work with site supervisor to establish project milestones and ensure they are met
- Provide project updates at weekly internal operations meetings
- Completion of safety and quality audits on all active projects
- Involvement in the investigation of any project related safety or quality incidents
- Actively participate in, and promote Prolium’s corporate safety program and initiatives
- Work with management to help in the development and implementation of corporate policies
Qualifications
- P Eng. designation in Alberta, with ability to be/or are registered in other provinces
- Experience in Storage Tank Construction or Repairs to be considered an asset
- Experience in Oil & Gas construction and Structural Design to be considered an asset
- Knowledge of API 650/653
- Knowledge of AMSE B31.1/31.3
- Project Management Professional training to be considered an asset
- Knowledge of welding processes considered an asset
- Construction scheduling and estimating experience to be considered an asset
- Experience with Inventor and 3D modeling is an asset
- Valid class 5 drivers’ license
