Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecom Network Operations Center Employee to play a critical role in monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
· Network Monitoring:Monitor the telecom network infrastructure using advanced monitoring tools to proactively identify and address network anomalies, outages, and performance degradation.
· Issue Identification and Resolution: Quickly diagnose and resolve network issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems, to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.
· Incident Management:Respond to network incidents, alarms, and alerts promptly and effectively. Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams or senior personnel as needed.
· Performance Optimization:Analyze network performance data to identify potential bottlenecks, congestion, or areas for improvement. Implement necessary adjustments to optimize network performance.
· Maintenance and Upgrades:Coordinate and execute network maintenance activities, software upgrades, and hardware installations during scheduled maintenance windows to ensure minimal disruption to services.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and incident resolutions. Contribute to the knowledge base for future reference.
· Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, and customer support to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution.
· 24/7 Monitoring:Participate in rotating shifts to provide round-the-clock monitoring and support for the network, ensuring continuous uptime and availability.
· Adherence to Protocols:Follow established procedures, protocols, and best practices for network monitoring, incident handling, and security compliance.
· Capacity Planning:Assist in analyzing network capacity trends and usage patterns to make recommendations for capacity upgrades and expansions.
· Emergency Response:Be prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to critical incidents, ensuring that emergency protocols are followed to mitigate potential network risks.
· Training and Development:Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in telecom network operations. Continuously improve your skills through training and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
· Experience in a NOC environment within telecommunications industry.
· Strong understanding of telecommunications network architecture for FTTH deployments.
· Proficiency in using network monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and troubleshooting techniques
· Knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching, and network security concepts
· Ability to define processes and rolls – position will require setting up processes and tools
· Willingness to work in shifts – including nights and weekends
· Effective Communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Relevant certifications – (e.g. Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+)
