The Opportunity: The Family Support and Outreach Worker provides a range of supports aimed at promoting the well-being of children and their families. The position assists families with parenting skills, life skills, home management skills by engaging families in skill based education programs, by direct observation of positive child care skills, and by providing one on one support to parents and their children.

Identifies community resources to meet parent’s needs, provides related information to parents and assist parents with referrals to appropriate community agencies to assist parents in obtaining the services they need

Provide group sessions, individual instruction, role modelling and coaching to parents on a variety of topics such as parenting, communication and social skills, problem solving, conflict management, child’s growth and development, goal setting, home management, personal hygiene and nutrition

Participates in the development, modification and evaluation of family service plans with parents/caregivers at integrated case management meetings
What You Will Bring to The Role:

Bachelor of Social Work; or
-
A diploma in Social Services (2 years) with at least three (3) years’ experience
