Responsibilities

Provides maintenance engineering support to the Technical Services division and other involved CMBC departments on matters relating to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective repair and overhaul of fleet vehicles.

Ensures fleet vehicles comply with provincial and federal standards and other related vehicles and support equipment is certified and approved by WorkSafeBC or other regulatory bodies.

Assists Maintenance Engineers, technical support staff and supervisory personnel on a variety of maintenance engineering projects, studies, test programs and evaluations related to vehicles, components, tooling, test and diagnostic equipment and associated infrastructure.

Provides project management support for bus procurement projects on behalf of CMBC. Assists the Warranty Administrator on various claim issues.

Liaises with vendors to discuss equipment or component failures or problems.

Liaises with various transit properties and outside agencies, etc. concerning matters of mutual concern and gives presentations at seminars and conferences as required.

Qualifications

University degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution with registration, or eligibility for registration, as an engineer-in-training (EIT) from Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) is required. The successful candidate will be directly supervised by a professional engineer (P.Eng.) registered in BC. Requires six (6) months experience in a heavy equipment/industrial environment related to commercial or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance repair. A further period of one (1) year in the position is required to become familiar with Coast Mountain Bus Company’s policies and procedures.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

Hybrid

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay

Salary $73,406 - $88,437 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
