As the Manager of Installation Services at Nordion, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of our installation services for our global customer base. You will lead a team of installation specialists and coordinate such resources for execution of installation projects from start to finish. Your expertise in project management, technical knowledge, and strong leadership skills will be vital to drive operational efficiency and deliver exceptional customer service.
This position is deemed a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW). A Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) is defined by the Nuclear Safety and Control Act as a person who is required, in the course of the person’s business, or occupation in connection with a nuclear substance or nuclear facility to perform duties in such circumstances that there is a reasonable probability that the person may receive a dose of radiation that is greater than the prescribed limit for the general public (1 mSv per year for the whole body).
Key Responsibilities
Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of installation projects within designated timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Team Leadership: Lead a team of installation specialists, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure their professional growth and performance excellence.
Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure the smooth execution of installation projects.
Ability to be trained and certified as a qualified installer of Nordion products, supporting your team in periods of limited resource capacity.
Customer Collaboration: Collaborate with customers, understanding their requirements, addressing concerns, and providing technical expertise to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the installation process.
Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of Nordion's products, equipment and systems, with the ability to provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine installation processes and equipment maintenance services, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
Compliance, Safety and Training: Ensure adherence to all relevant safety protocols, regulations, and quality standards during installation activities, maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Ensure team members are fully trained (and refreshed) on the job requirements, and support continues learning and expansion of skills.
Documentation and Reporting: Accountability for your team’s accurate project documentation, including installation reports and records to support efficient project tracking and reporting.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Liaise with internal stakeholders, such as sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams, to facilitate seamless coordination and effective communication throughout the installation process.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, related field and/or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications or training in project management would be advantageous
Experience: Proven experience in project management, preferably in a technical or engineering environment, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
Skills and Competencies
Technical Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of field service and equipment installation and service, ideally in the healthcare or scientific industry. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards is desirable.
