Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Enter patient information and prescription details into the computer system
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and healthcare professionals
- Package and label medications accurately
- Organize medication deliveries
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety standards
- Assist with medication compounding under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant or in a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is a plus
